Greetings from the Superintendent

Greetings to all our members and guests. As the summer comes to a close and the fall season is upon us, I would like to share my thoughts on the course, as well as some improvements in the plans for this fall and winter. We’ve had very good goose grass control throughout the course, especially in the greens. The challenge we are working on now is the thinning in areas on 2, 12 and 13. I believe there are 4 factors that can cause this, and I’m going to work on each one to find the solution. The reason they are thinning is a shallow root system, and they struggle during the heat of the summer. We are exploring the drainage, nematodes, soil composition, and airflow. I’m certain we will find a solution! Upcoming improvements to the course will include an expansion of irrigation on holes 13 and 16, along with some tree removal including the tree on 15 fairway. We also are planning a new red tee on 5, which may make some players very happy. I appreciate the support from David and Julie as we share a mutual vision to make WillowBrook the best it can be.

Hole in One Club

The elusive Hole in One remained unattainable for another month. I know, I have made several attempts and just as I hit the perfect shot, that would have gone in, but the hole moved! DARN!!
